We're here!

Well, we're actually here, and I am sat in a lovely air conditioned hotel room sat on a giant bed with our laptop connected to the internet, amazing! The flight was all fine, I gave Ben both of the Dramamine tablets Emma had given us (motion sickness pills that also knock you out!) so he could hopefully sleep as he never usually does on planes. These worked great, and he slept more than he has before on long haul! So I drifted in and out, watching movies and listening to music. All-in-all was a fine flight!

We were so glad that we applied for Thai visas beforehand, as we didn't have to queue at all, just went straight through. Those that had not had a long wait ahead of them! Getting a taxi was fine, and super cheap. Got to the hotel and we were welcomed with a cold tea like drink - yum! Our room is beautiful, I will try and put up the pics!

The first thing Ben wanted to do was find the pool, so off we went for a swim! How refreshing! Its weird, on the fourth floor of the hotel, but it's still ouside, so strange being four floors up! I must admit, I did have a bit of a 'moment' in the pool where all the exhaustion and emotion caught up with me, and did have a few tears, just felt very peculiar to be here, and not know what was coming next, as I am always the one with a plan! the 'moment' didn't last long, and I was grateful for a hot shower and to put some make-up on and go out for dinner!

Used the frizeeze in my hair to try and combat the humidity (which by the way is CRAZY!), but ten mins after stepping out of hotel, perfectly nice hair was floofing up around my face, oh well! We walked arpund for a bit, just taking it all in, realising that we didn't feel like we stuck out at all, even though I'm sure we did! It's not like other places where you are so aware you are a tourist, no one blinks when you walk by! The traffic is crazy and crossing the road requires nerves of steel, but still alive! Had some yummy spring rolls from a street vendor lady, and the price was 40p - they were delicious covered in thai sweet chilli sauce - Mmmm!

After looking around, settled on dinner in a chinese looking place. Sat down, and the man came over and showed us the menu. Even though lots of meat dishes were listed, he explained that this was a vegetarian restaurant, and the dishes were tofu! It was too late to leave, so we though, what the hell, and ordered! It was really good! The food was so tasty - didn't really notice it wasn't real meat!

So, it's only 3 in the afternoon to our bodies, but its 9.30pm here, so bedtime soon I think, we're both shattered! I'm just about to make myself a cup of tea and there's a mars bar in the fridge, oh yeah!
Don't yet know what's in store for tomorrow, perhaps a visit to the Grand Palace!

Hey! didn't know you were writing a blog but it's cool to be able to catch up with what you're doing! Glad you got there ok and all is going well so far. Missing you loads, you're only missing the usual chaos that is Mayflower.Bex had a baby girl this morning - they've called her Clover.
