Hangin out with the 'Wrinkles'!

On Tuesday I dropped Ben off to work and headed to the old people’s home! I got introduced to a few of the people that work there and one lady, Judy, was lovely enough to show me around and take me under her wing! She immediately introduced me to Charlotte, a lovely 91 year old (although you’d never believe she was 91!) who comes from London! She still has a bit of a Londoner’s accent which is fun to hear! She and I talked for a long time and she introduced me to a few of her friends! Judy showed me around, there are 99 residents, in low care, high care, and the ‘sunshine’ ward. Sunshine is for people with dementia, and it is a secure locked unit. I met a few of the residents there which was fun!

After morning tea it was time for the knitting and crochet group, run by a volunteer. Some ladies are making their own projects such as a woolly snake and a cardigan and the rest are knitting squares to be sewn together to make blankets for babies in the hospital. I sat with Charlotte and her friend Vera who were lovely! Had a wonderful morning chatting with them!

Headed back home for some lunch and started to feel a bit unwell, so sat down for a while and then had a snooze as I felt so rotten. Not sure what was wrong, but when I picked Ben up he had been feeling rough all day too and felt like he had a cold. We had a good hearty dinner of a sausage casserole and an early night, hoping to feel better in the morning!
